Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions… for safety on the streets…. for child care, for social welfare… for rape crisis centers, women’s refuges, reforms in the law.
If someone says, “Oh, I’m not a feminist,” I ask, “Why? What’s your problem?”
There needs to be a code word or something that means “my brain is fighting me every step of the way today and I feel like I’m going to vibrate out of my skin, so I need you to forgive everything and go slowly and speak softly and lower your expectations.” And then we could all just be like, “I know I said we could go to a movie tonight but… tangerines.” And the other person would nod and squeeze your elbow or rub your head and you wouldn’t feel like a failure.
Have you ever wanted to just send to someone as we speak I’m bleeding out my face and not wearing pants…cause that’s literally me half the time I’m texting someone
I try really hard to fix my sleep schedule…but then I forget and like make banana bread or do laundry or shower at two in the morning like oops sleep? No silly that is a daytime activity
